Description

Soooo....I've been trying to find an older pink toe (not a spiderling) just to have more in my budding collection...annnd because it's going to take Muppet a little while to grow up :) (Muppet...sooo cute ---> [link] ).

I called a local pet store yesterday (Valentines Day), to see what they had...and they had pink toes! They only had two, and by the time I got there the other had sold! This little one (2-3 inches about) cost $29.99. I sent the photo to an expert ("Ken the Bug Guy", I'll link to his store at the end of this description)...and he's not entirely sure what it is, but says that it's NOT a Martinique pink toe, and not a black one...and possibly a Metallica? If anyone knows what kinda spider this is, please leave me a comment or note :). In person it's carapace is a dark metallic green, it has some red around the abdomen, and the legs have a slight bluish hue to them...pretty and gentle little guy/gal. Also, if anyone has info how to sex these please let me know, but I am researching as best I can in my free time. they really are interesting animals that's for sure.

I'm new to collecting these cuties. So far I have a Chilean Rose hair I've had for 7 years, this one here, and Muppet the spiderling (who IS a Martinique pink toe).

Pretty little thing huh? I am concerned the store wasn't keeping it humid enough, but now have it kept in a proper tank with moisture and good ventilation...I'm a beginner but I'm reading a lot before buying anything...AND after. Comments, input and advice are VERY welcome though.

I'm thinking about calling it "Mutt" since I don't know what it is and it's a funny name for a spider...but just remembered today that, that's the same name as the freaking a$$hat in the new Indiana Jones film, so I'm having second thoughts, lol.

Visit Ken's online store here...he's been very helpful answering my questions, and has loads of spiders for sale (and scorpions too)---> [link]
