Relaxing after the race by Meadowknight Relaxing after the race by Meadowknight
Another pic of my Feisar (Wipeout) cosplay!

Photo taken by JoEllen Elam at the 2010 Socal Spring Cosplay Gathering. The costume was designed by myself and Vanessa, sewn by my friends Jenny and Joellen, and I did the helmet, boots, pendant and pieced together various parts of the costume!

Thanks!

Err...I'd rather not take the time to make a tutorial since most people wouldn't even be interested in making a cosplay like this, and I just used what I could to throw it all together.

To give you the gist of it: I bought a flight (helicopter) pilot helmet off eBay...sanded it down, painted it with acrylics by hand, and coated it with clear resin. And the helmet, I removed the original visor (which was a deep grayish/black)..and replaced it with a modified motorcycle helmet visor. The outfit itself, I bought the fabric for, and then a couple friends of mine sewed it for me since I can't sew. Before they sewed it, I did a concept sketch, and they took my measurements.

The pendant I'm wearing I hand sculpted, molded, cast and painted (I can't sew, but I draw, paint, sculpt, and do mold making and casting work). The shows are knee high Converse all stars, and various logos on the costume are iron on transfers. I'm friends with someone who works on Wipeout games as well, so I got some logos from him.

Here's a pic of a close up of the pendant I made if you didn't see it in my gallery :). [link]

I hope some of those details help. If you want to ask me about any specific parts of the costume, I can try to explain in better detail. Wipeout is awesome, and doesn't get enough love! I'd like to eventually do an AG Systems costume as well :).

Awwww thx.

I guess then I have to sew it by my own. ^^

A helicopterhelmet? Wasnt it expensive to buy it?

Okay I`ll try it now by my own and if I have another question I`ll let you know.

Yea its Awesome. ♥

Thanks :).

The helmet was a little less expensive when I bought it..looks like theye're going for around $60.,00 for the same kind. I got one similar to this, and sanded the paint down (got rid of the shine so the acrylics would stick). I sanded it down by hand after removing the visor, and painted it, then coated it in clear resin....but basically you want something like this if you want to do what I did, and buy a clear visor (if you want)...and modify it.

I hope that helps ^_^...there's no real easy way to make the costume, but it was fun for me figuring it all out :D.

Well thanks ^^

But I dont earn enough money. I'm not able to buy this. <.<
Okay then... it wont work.

Yes I know. To make a costume is more fun then to wear it later at the conventions.

Thanks for giveing me the infomation. I'll see. If I get enough money I'll do a costume by my own. ^^
Well... for the Gamescom perhaps but not this year. <.<

Okay I dont want to spam. ^^ Thanks again.

You're not spamming, no worries, lol.

I don't have a job aside from selling some freelance art..and didn't have a job when I made that. I just chipped away at it. And thing is, there are no Wipeout pilots that you can really see in the game.....soooo you can make the costume however you like! :) if you want to make a pilot costume, make a pilot costume. You don't need to spend allot unless you can/want to. It's just cosplay afterall, all in good fun. And you don't have to even have a helmet.

Oh Okay.

Thats true. You're right after all.^^
Perhaps I find some day a cheap helmet. Who knows.
I just find pilots from WipEout Fusion. You can see them in the gallery under extras. And its not so easy to cosplay oe of them. I dont know how the pilots look in the oter games.

I think that's the only game they really show in...I'm friends with someone who works on the games (online friends of course, since he's in Liverpool and I'm in California, lol). I know there's been desire to create pilots for the games, but it hasn't been allowed to happen :).

What I went for with my costume design...is, a cross between a pilot and a race care driver. So, a jumpsuit in team colors is mainly what you'd need (in my opinion). Fun stuff! Lots of artistic freedom :).
